Harriet Tubman never gave up on her journey even though she knew if she ever got caught she would be severely punished. Harriet took on a major "project" called the Underground Railroads, a network of secret routes and safe houses for African American slaves. To Harriet this wasn't just to get out and explore and to try and get away from slavery it was her showing how passionate she was about her freedom as well as many others who followed. They were on a journey to free states, one of the most popular ones was British North America (present- day Canada)- where slavery was strictly prohibited. It was a long and dangerous journey for the whole group of followers, but they started in Dorchester, Maryland and walked with strength on their feet to the finish line of freedom.
